🐑 The Sheep Have Settled In at Ještěd!

A new attraction and a natural way of caring for mountain meadows can now be found at Ještěd Ski Resort. The project was created in cooperation with Liberec Municipal Forests, which provided a flock of Skudde sheep and will oversee their care and welfare throughout their stay at Ještěd.

A new enclosure has been built on the Skalka slope, close to the upper station of the Skalka chairlift. From here, the sheep will head out each day to carry out their important “work” of maintaining the mountain meadows.

📅 When Did the Sheep Arrive?

A flock of 10 Skudde sheep arrived at Ještěd on June 3, 2026.

🚠 Where Can You Find Them?

The sheep graze on the grassy areas of the Skalka slope, just a short walk from the upper station of the Skalka chairlift.

🌿 Why Are They at Ještěd?

Thanks to the partnership with Liberec Municipal Forests, a traditional and environmentally friendly method of landscape management is returning to Ještěd. The sheep help maintain mountain meadows, support biodiversity, and contribute to preserving the rich and healthy natural environment around Ještěd.
